i’ve gone travelling…. hi.

I might write about my adventures here…

air asia… suck January 27, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — lukeo @ 6:21 am

grr they are annoying. the whole flight was nothing but hassel yesterday. starting with the fact that they check in 2 hours before the flight not 3, and i got there half an hour early cause of lack of regular shuttle buses, so i had to wait an hour an a half before anything happened.

then i find out they have a 15kg luggage allowance, which is just stupid as every other airline is 20kgs. so after they forced me to check in my guitar, my luggage was 3kg over (though they tried to charge me for 4kg, i fought that charge). so eventually i pay and get it all over with, not happy, and extremely tired.

finally on the flight, they are rock hard chairs made of stone or lead or something, and apparently i’m not allowed to put my bag under the chair in front of me… whatever.

then eventually after hassel at KL airport, with the fact they don’t have any working cash machines so therefore i had no money except USD25 i happened to have in my wallet. if it wasn’t for that i would have been thoroughly screwed and stuck at another airport for another night. eventually i get to a hostel, which was quite a cool place, despite being diiirrrty, but it was a fun night and fully airconditioned dorm which was sweet. i was booked into a different hostel for tonight, so i head there this morning, check in, unpack everything, and find that the baaaasstards at air asia have broke my guitar, after all that!. thats why i told them i didn’t want to check it in but they forced me to. so i’m not happy.

i got another flight with them tomorrow, so i am gonna head down there early and have words with them. and try and go through the rigmorale (is that a word) of getting a big ass refund on my broken guitar. i paid the extra 2 pound for extra insurance, so they should give me some money back.

anyway, apart from that, kuala lumpa seems pretty cool. and very hot. only here for a 2 days, but i’m back for a few more in a couple of weeks, which will be cool.

… he returned to write upon this magical book of his deeds and movements across the great south east of the world.

yes, folks. if anyone is still looking at this site (which according to the blog stats a good handful of people a day are) I have returned to write muchly upon it of what has happened to me, what is happening to me, and what will happen to me in the future. indeed, one of the major things that has happened in the last four weeks is the blessing of being able to read to future. i can tell you for one thing that at least two of you are going to stop reading this because of my blabbering, and then at least two more are going to force them selves to continue to read it just to seem nice.

please, theres lots more, click the link to read on:

erm.. hi December 22, 2006

Filed under: Uncategorized — lukeo @ 8:14 am

i haven’t really posted anything about what i’m doing… and i haven’t got those photos up that i promised. this is mainly because australian computers are horrendous and won’t let me do what i need to get them up, so i will try and put them up soon, but i am no longer promising anything.

also. i have been really busy lately, and also tired and stuff, so haven’t bothered to write anything. basically i met up with ry and we are having fun. and i jumped out a plane and it was fun. (thanks for the best birthday present ever). and we went to the beach and are now both black. and the weather has been rubbish for the last 4 days, but today was great once more. hopefully it will be a white christmas… or whatever the really sunny equivilent of that is.

anyway, thats about all. we are just doing stuff and mainly relaxing. we’ve got plenty of time…..

happy xmas everyone. bye.

the great ocean road tour was amazing. really something quite special i think. the highlight has to be finding a koala bear on the floor in the wild and feeding it eucalypt leaves. i was literally a foot away. i got about 300 photos or something, which will go up as soon as possible, but right now i don’t have my camera cable… its in my main bag which is … inaccessible.. right now. but i will have them up soon. kthxbye.xx

adelaide and the zoo December 10, 2006

Filed under: australia — lukeo @ 3:41 am

so i have been in adelaide for what… five days.? yeah, this is my fifth day i think. its been pretty chilled out. its a very quite, spacious, and different city to melbourne. i think it barely classifies as a city…. its pretty much the same size as chelmo, but muuuch less cramped.

anyway, after arriving at 5am, and getting some pretty photos of the town in the first light of the morning, i found a hostel. this place is nothing like mcmahons where i stayed in melbourne. for one thing, it isn’t a pub, so when you step out of your roomo your not automativally standing at a bar. its been nice having a while off of drinking, and i have basically just spent the time wakling around adeliade.

i went to a musuem and found out about animals (they have fur), and people from fiji (they don’t have fur), and chicken ceaser salad baguettes (again, no fur.). i went to the zoo, which was awesome. there was loasd of things, like seals which were having a duel to the death. monkeys which bounced on each others heads, and kangaroos which were incredibly boring and sat under rocks. there little penguins were amazingly awesome though. they just stood there, and i just stood there, for about an hour in silence staring at each other.

anyway. this place just had the biggest heat wave in the history of the world ever. first of all it was very cold, like 30 degrees, then it got hotter and hotter, and the night before last it only went down to like 28 degrees, then in the day it went up to 42, then last night down to 30. today is nice though, its a bit cloudy and you don’t die if you step outside.

so yesterday when it was 42 i went to the beach with a couple of people and now i have like trippled my tan which took me a month in thialand, in like 30 minutes here. and i didn’t burn, woooooooo.

more importantly however, is the fact i’m going great ocean road tomorrow, where i will take lots of photos. then i will get to melbourne and tell y’all about it and upload a load of the photos i have from adelaide and the great ocean road and all taht fun.

happy holidays folks. xxxx

melbourne, dwarves and flying monkeys December 3, 2006

so i’ve been here a week or so, and its been pretty fun. pretty crazy… a good laugh. bev and micks hostel is pretty sweet, thanks to that guy in bangkok who sent me here. without you i would be still sitting in a drain in melbourne, maybe.

anyway, i have done a lot of sleeping. thats fun. done a hell of a lot of cheese on toast eating. (and variations on that, including cheese between toast, cheese next to toast, and beans on cheese on toast.) and rather too much drinking. so, this friday i met the australians that i met last friday again, and found out that the persons bed i slept in on my first night in melbourne was a dwarf… that made me laugh. mainly becuase i was actually speaking to the dwarf about this. (i didnt’ sleep in it with him, he was out of town hence why i was in that bed.). anyway… yeah, dwarf. they are little.

also, i was hit in the head by a wet flying monkey. i can’t really remember why or what happened… but it happened. it hink it might have been a cuddly toy.

also, theres a crazy korean girl who is the most annoying person anyone has ever met who is like, the ultimate typical asian tourist. t is quite funny, and shes nice and everything, but so annoying, and insisted on dragging me off sightseeing round melbourne, including going to the casino to spend her 2 dollars she had saved up for that. whatever….

also… i managed to get a haircut. though, i paid for it with my favourite hat, because that was the drunken deal that was struck. so now i have a drunken haircut, and no favourite hat. i am gonna have to make ryan find the hat when he is in bangkok and buy me a new one and bring it to me, for i cannot live without it.. even if i do have a slightly uneven, but none the less not too bad haircut.

anyway… thats about it. i have done a bit of sightseeing around melbourne.. gone to the beach, and visited some museums and seen the sights in the city. its a really nice city. despite the crazy weather. one day it is like 35 degrees, the next it is 15 and fairly chilly. but its always nice. i am planning on doing a 4 day trip on the great ocean road to adelaid, stay there for a couple of days before heading back to melbourne, then to canberra then onto sydney to meet ry. oh, i also booked a skydive for sydney. thanks so much to those friends of mine who got me the voucher which i used to pay for most of that. by the way, i’m blaming you all if i die.

i have some photos… but i don’t have my camera here right now and i can’t be bothered to get it. so i might put them up before i go great ocean road, if not, i will afterwards, i will hopefully have some really cool photos then, can’t wait.

seeya around. gimme an email if your around australia.

also, i have IMPORTANT INFORMATION. i recently broke one of my two red elastic bands. i was literally devastated, and i think it may be upsetting the yin yang or feng shui or whatever it is called in my life. anyway, seeing as it is christmas soon, i would be sooooo grateful if someone would send me a red elastic band for christmas. like, honestly, it would make my life. so, if you fancy doing that, pack it up all nice, and post it to sydney gpo or something…just like,

luke o’neill
post restante
sydney gpo

and email me to tell me you have sent it yeeah and then i will be happy. very happy.

australia…. woah dude. November 28, 2006

right. i’m in australia. this is truly so cool. i mean, i wanted to come travelling round the world and stuff.. but what i really wanted was to go to australia. and its just amazing… everything has been perfect. well, kind of. but, yeah, it was been awesome.

firstly, the flight i got was the maiden flight of some new qantas subsidary called jetstar. so it was a brand new plane with leather seats and nice food, and there were loads of photographers taking photos of us boarding and stuff. and we got a little wreath of flowers each. which was nice untill the sniffer dog in australia tried to rape me and then kill me for bringing illegal substances into the country. i was shocked and scared, but he did the same to everyone else after, so i didnt get artrsted.

anyway, despite being a brand new company, they didnt’ have any customers, so i got the whole middle isle to myself to lie down nicely on. business class styley yeah!

right. so. australia. its really amazing. its just… coooool. like, woah man. hard to explain, but it is cool. the weather in melbourne is great. its just warm and nice, but not so much you can’t sleep at night. you can’t sleep at night because i’msleeping above a pub with patrons who don’t stop until 4am! but, thats not really much of a problem now is it.

so, my first experience of australia was this. i sat down in the pub where i am staying, watching the ashes with some nice cold beer. just perfect. long story short, i ended up meeting a group of ozzies, getting lots of free drinks which they won in a kinda game of deal or no deal that is every friday night here, then went to a 21st birthday party which had free beer on tap. nice.

anyway, thats oz. seeya soon.x
